The mid-term inspection meeting special project “Integrated Transportation and Intelligent Transportation System” of National Key Research and Development Program was held on November 2, 2020 in Beijing. The title of the project is “Key Technologies and System Integration of Collaborative Control of Urban Multimodal Transportation System”. Prof. Wanjing Ma attended the meeting as the principal of subject 2. Those who also attended the meeting were: Dongbo Liu, the principal of the project; Professor Sheng Jin,the principal of Subject 1; Professor Jingxin Xia, the principal of subject 3; Weidong Zhu, Dejian Liang and Zhipeng Li from the Ministry of Science and Technology of the People’s Republic of China. Jizhen Guan, Lin Ma, Fangchun Yang, Guangquan Lu, Bin Xu, Ruijun Yuan and Xiaoke Cao attended as review experts. Representatives of other participated units of this program also attended the meeting.
At the meeting, Dejian Liang first explained the requirements and main points of the mid-term inspection. Next, Dongbo Liu gave a detailed report on the progress of the project. The six aspects reported were overall project management, completion of tasks and assessment indicators, phased progress of representative results, preparation of project demonstration tasks, implementation of funds and supporting implementation, and problems encountered and future plans.
Evaluation experts believe that the overall progress of the project was smooth, with rigorous research and deployment centered on key technologies. The theory and methods adopted were feasible, the organization work was solid, and the mid-term tasks and goals have been completed. The project was advised to further focus on the key technologies that require breakthroughs in the project book, strengthen the condensing of research results, and highlight representative research results. The project was also advised to further analyze whether the technologies developed in this project would stay advanced in the future, and dynamically adjust of innovation points according to the analysis. Moreover, the technical characteristics of multi-mode collaborative control should be explicitly reflected.
