In the 2021 Outstanding Graduate assessment, several members of Magic Lab won awards.
Sun Tuo, a Ph.D. candidate of 2016, won the award of Shanghai Outstanding Graduate.
Ruochen Hao, a Ph.D. candidate of 2017, won the award of Shanghai Outstanding Graduate.
Lijuan Wan, a master candidate of 2018, won the award of Tongji University Outstanding Graduate.
Winner of Shanghai Outstanding Graduates in 2021——Tuo Sun, Male, Party member of CPC（Communist Party of China), the 2016 doctoral student of the College of Transportation Engineering with Professor Wanjing Ma as the supervisor. He has worked as the party branch secretary and the commissary in charge of organization in the second class of Xinkong. He was publicly sponsored by the China Scholarship Council to go to Imperial College London as a visiting researcher from 2019 to 2020. During his Ph.D. stage, he published 7 academic papers, including 4 SCI papers, and participated in the compilation of 2 monographs, including "Intelligent Transportation System Theoretical System and Application" (Shanghai University Press, 2018) and "Artificial Intelligence and Application" (China Personnel Press, 2019), of which, "Artificial Intelligence and Application" has been printed and issued more than 10,000 copies. His academic achievements have been obtained by 2 provincial and ministerial scientific and technological awards, including the first prize of Science and Technology Award of China Highway and Transportation Society in 2018 and the first prize of Shanghai Science and Technology Progress Award in 2020, respectively. He won the National Scholarship for Doctoral Candidates in 2016 and the Tongji University Outstanding Doctoral Scholarship in 2019. Recently, he is the Founder, executive director, and general manager of Zhaobian (Shanghai) Technology Co., Ltd., which received equity funding from the "Eagle Plan" of Tongji University and became the governing unit of the China Intelligent Transportation System Industry Alliance of the Ministry of Transport and the member unit of the IMT2020 (5G) Promotion Group of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology. The smart road solutions and the edge computing equipment as the core product won the national second prize of the “Internet + Transportation” smart road theme competition and the Gold Award of Shanghai in China International “Internet +” University Student Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition.
Winner of Shanghai Outstanding Graduates in 2021——Ruochen Hao started working for a PhD degree in Transportation Engineering College at 2017. From 2019.11 to 2020.05, he went to TU Delft as an exchange student. He got the funding of CSC. During the four-year study, he keeps working on Intelligent transportation. He won the first prize of Shanghai Science and technology progress award, wrote 1 Industrial standard, published 7 papers and 3 patents, one of which was selected by Tongji University for technology investment in an intelligent transportation company. He once served as the Secretary of the 15th CPC branch of the general CPC branch of the College of transportation engineering, and won three national first prize and above awards.
Winner of Tongji University Outstanding Graduates in 2021——Wan Lijuan, a 2018 master candidate of the College of Transportation Engineering, will go to Hong Kong University of Science and Technology to pursue PhD degree. She has published two research papers on SCI indexed journals including Transportation Research Part C, and actively participated in academic meetings, such as TRB and Kyoto University and Tongji University Joint Seminar. She owned National Scholarship for Postgraduate, Outstanding Student, First Prize of The 6th China Graduate Smart City Technology and Creativity Competition, and so on.
