The doctoral dissertation defense of MAGIC Lab was successfully held in Room 102, Tongda Building, Tongji University at 9:00 a.m. on September 7, 2021,. The whole process of the meeting was carried out synchronously through the online platform.
Tuo Sun, a doctoral student of 2016, and Ruochen Hao, a doctoral student of 2017, successfully passed the oral defense with their dissertation "Research on road network signal control method based on deep learning" and "Optimization control method of new mixed traffic flow at intersections".
The main research content of Tuo Sun is to explore the data-driven "scheme selection + adaptive dynamic optimization adjustment" traffic control. Based on the missing data filling method of probabilistic principal component analysis, a multidimensional depth residual traffic flow prediction method considering the spatio-temporal correlation between upstream and downstream is proposed, and a road network traffic control method based on forward n-step observation depth reinforcement learning is established. The results can continuously improve the traffic control capacity and operation efficiency through self-learning, which is innovative.
Ruochen Hao 's main research content is to explore the optimal control of new mixed traffic flow at intersections in the order of "vehicle perception - active control of entrance demand - optimal control of intersection internal space". Based on probability theory, cluster intelligence, optimization and potential energy field, the non networked vehicle trajectory data estimation method, the vehicle active formation management method in pure CAV and mixed traffic flow environment, and the intersection space-time resource collaborative active optimization control method are proposed. The research results are innovative.
Professor Xiaoguang Yang of Tongji University was invited as the chairman of the defense. Professor Yibing Wang of Zhejiang University, Professor Guangquan Lu of Beijing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics, Professor Xiaobo Qu of Chalmers University of Technology, Professor Wanjing Ma of Tongji University and Professor Kun An of Tongji University were invited as the members of the defense committee, and Researcher Wang Ling of Tongji University was invited as the secretary of the defense.
