The China EV100 Forum 2024 was grandly held at the Diaoyutai State Guesthouse in Beijing on March 15th, themed "Consolidating and Expanding the Advantages of NEV Developments." Around this theme, representatives from global governmental sectors and leading companies in the automotive, energy, transportation, urban development, and communication sectors engaged in spirited discussions on various topics. These included the new developments in the global automotive industry, new paths for the green and low-carbon transformation of the automotive industry, new directions for the development of intelligent connected vehicles, new strategies for the integrated development of vehicles and cities, innovation in the traction battery industry, applications of significant computing power, big models, big data, construction of charging infrastructure, the intelligent electrification transformation of commercial vehicles, the construction of a service-oriented automotive ecosystem, and new changes in the automotive market and consumption.
Leaders such as Wan Gang, Chairman of the China Association for Science and Technology; Zheng Shanjie, Director of the National Development and Reform Commission; Zhang Yudong, Vice Minister of the Ministry of Science and Technology; Shan Zhongde, Vice Minister of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology; Sheng Qiuping, Vice Minister of the Ministry of Commerce; Gou Ping, Vice Director of the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of the State Council; and Qin Haixiang, Vice Minister of the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development, delivered speeches at the high-level forum.
During the China EV100 Forum 2024, the China EV100 and the Alliance for Collaborative Development of Smart Cars and Smart Cities organized the Forum on Integrated Development of Vehicles, Roads, and Cities, focusing on "the model and path of integrated development of vehicles, roads, and cities." This session was co-chaired by Zhao Zesheng, a distinguished expert from the Research Institute for Intelligent & Connected Vehicles of China EV100, and Liu Anmin, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, Director, and General Manager of the China Automotive Engineering Research Institute Co., Ltd. Deputy Directors Yang Hongyi of the Urban Construction Department of the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development, Lin Qiang of the Science and Technology Department of the Ministry of Transport, and Jin Bing, Inspector/Deputy Director of the Policy and Regulation Department of the State Post Bureau, attended and spoke. Distinguished experts such as Wu Hequan, Academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering; Wang Xiaoqing, Chief Scientist of the National Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS) Engineering Technology Research Center; Chen Shanzhi, Deputy General Manager/Chief Engineer/Director of the Mobile Communication and Vehicle Network National Engineering Research Center of China Information and Communications Technology Group Corporation; and Ma Wanjing, Tenured Professor and Secretary of the Party Committee of the School of Transportation Engineering at Tongji University, made thematic speeches.
Professor Ma Wanjing delivered a thematic speech on "Controlling Vehicles with Roads, Controlling Cities with Vehicles," introducing the technology system and cooperation achievements in vehicle-traffic flow collaborative traffic control and services. Professor Ma systematically explained the core model and algorithms of vehicle-traffic flow collaboration from three key dimensions: perception and evaluation, diagnosis and optimization, and travel services. To effectively transform the vehicle-traffic flow collaboration model algorithms into practical applications and promote the development of related industries, an operating system to build the foundational environment, a testing and training platform for co-creating data applications, and technical standards to guide industry development are needed. In the context of rapid technological changes and growing and diversifying traffic development needs, the concept of "Controlling Vehicles with Roads" aims to solve traffic problems, while "Controlling Cities with Vehicles" serves industrial innovation and leads urban development. In summary, only through the deep integration of vehicles, roads, and cities to empower each other can we effectively promote the development of new quality productive forces.
During the conference, the "Report on the Development Model and Path of the Vehicle-Road-City Collaborative System," co-authored by the School of Transportation Engineering at Tongji University, was released by Zhang Yongwei, Vice Chairman and Secretary-General of China EV100. The report aims to provide guidance for the collaborative construction of urban vehicle-road-city systems and the development of the automotive industry and related sectors.
