A debate about whether to install a signal light at a typical intersection was successfully held in Room 506, Science and Technology Park of Tongji University at 18:00 on April 13, 2021, which was carried out concurrently through online platform.
Shiqi Ou, Jinjue Li, Ziliang He and Zhuo Ma participated in the debate. They chose two typical intersections in Shanghai, "Wenshui Road - Shuidian Road Crosswalk" and "Pingliang Road - Weinan Road Intersection" for their study. The pros and cons respectively stated their opinions on whether signal lights should be set up at intersections, and analyzed them from the perspectives of national standards, historical accident data of intersections, operation status of intersections, signal control situation of adjacent intersections, travel aggregate situation of adjacent areas and residents' travel demands. After the report, many members of MAGIC Lab raised questions and discussed together, which promoted academic exchanges.
Participants in this meeting included Professor Kun An, Assistant researcher Chunhui Yu, and other members of MAGIC Lab.
